A great small mountain cafe. They serve both American and Vietnamese food. Both are prepared wonderfully. Me and my wife were in Baring on vacation and made this place our daily lunch spot. I typically stuck with the Pho and my wife the French Toast. But we also have had the Steak and the beef stew which were great. Oh and my wife is now addicted to Vietnamese Coffee. They also offer free wifi which we utilized since our cabin did not have connectivity (yay), connection was good. Lastly, if time is a constraint be warned that service can understandably take a while for a place this size when it is crowded. Otherwise the service is excellent, and always very friendly.

Excellent pit stop! Very friendly service. And excellent tofu lemongrass banh mi sandwich! Seriously the best Vege banh mi I've ever had.

After my first visit and review, I received a message (via yelp) from the owner, asking me to give it another shot. I did, a few months later on a Monday afternoon approx 5:00. I ordered the exact same items. The Pho was really good this time and served hot. Actually, I think that was the only difference. It did make all the difference in the world. The chicken wings? Meh....try a different appetizer. The 'drummies' are thicker folks! Cook them longer than the '2 bone' sections! Why is it that so many think they need the same cook time? I'd give them an extra half star.

This is a lovely little stopover on the road from Leavenworth to Seattle. It's fresh and clean inside, with loads of flowers planted outside, and happy old timey posters on the walls. I had the pork banh-mi sandwich, which came on yummy, chewy, crusty French bread with fresh carrot slaw and warm pork. Hubs had bacon guacamole grilled cheese sandwich. The guacamole is freshly made, with a nice tang to it. We will definitely stop here again! It's a nice, fresh change from the heavy diner food elsewhere along Highway 2.

Stopped for breakfast with a group. Perfect over east eggs and the house made chicken fried steak was spectacular. Others had the corned beef hash that was also impressive.

Good food, interesting menu, nice staff, pleasant atmosphere. Great break from our camping regimen and good for our young kids. Between corn dog meals, recommended Vietnamese dish, and bacon burger, our fam of five left with full tummies and happy taste buds.

I stopped by the Wallace Falls Cafe this morning for breakfast, and found this new little diner to be welcoming, clean, and delightful! Since the cuisine is listed as American/Vietnamese I wasn't sure what the breakfast menu would be like, but they have all the usual stuff, and reasonably priced! I had the Corn Beef Hash, which was cubed homemade corn beef fried up with onions, green peppers, and cubed potatoes - it was absolutely delicious, and the way I would have made it myself at home... The eggs were perfect over medium, and the toast was toasted just the way I like it. The family that run the cafe were friendly and interested in making sure I had a great meal, without hovering or interrupting. They did a great job, and my breakfast could not have been improved in any way! I'm looking forward to my next pass through Gold Bar at dinnertime to try some of the vietnamese items on their menu.

We were craving pho one Friday night and turned to Yelp. As usual, we were prepared to take a trip to Monroe, 18 miles away. To our surprise, this eatery was top of the list and only two miles away! Didn't realise that the restaurant was under new ownership as it had been variously a diner, Mexican restaurant and a cafe in the past. Looking at the online menu convinced us to try it out. The Mi Quang pho, spring rolls and vermicelli were excellent AND at a reasonable price! The server was a charming and personable young man who served us promptly and made sure we were happy with our meal. We are telling our friends and relatives of our fortunate find.

Looking for a new place to eat on your way to or from the mountains on Hwy 2? This cafe has great Vietnamese food, reasonable prices and a friendly staff. This is a new small business that's proud to share their family food traditions. My favorite so far is the Rice Crepe or Banh xeo with shrimp. You add fresh basil & roll the crepe up inside a big lettuce leaf, then add fish sauce with slivered carrot. It's messy, delicious and the crepe is light and eggy- more like a thin omelette. My husband's first choice is their Mi Quang Pho. Choose the flavorful thin sliced roast pork- the perfect complement to the savory broth & house made noodles. The shrimp fresh rolls are also yummy with generous portion of thick peanut dipping sauce. We've eaten there twice & it already feels like we have eaten with family. P.S. Room for dessert? I highly advise you get the Fried Banana with coconut milk & roasted peanuts. It's a delicious flavor combination with a batter that's crispy on the edges. Tastes somewhere between a fritter & banana donut- heavenly!

There is good food under this roof! The family run restaurant is so nice to have in the neighborhood. With a combination American/Vietnamese menu. I've had the Bahn Mi twice with the lemon grass stuffed tofu. Easy to eat on the run. And this evening I ordered the Crepe.... delicious! Both trips were last minute, not really presentable for public, been working all day it's time for dinner meals I'll be back for the Pho when I can stay and enjoy the friendly loving family atmosphere. Oh yeah, the money. Very reasonable.

What a fantastic variety of fare! I got pho, my friend had an omelette, both were delicious! Beware the house hot sauce, it's hott!

Stopped by on way back to Seattle from Leavenworth. What a find! Had the corned beef hash, amazing! Not the sloppy CBH you get in the can. Home-made goodness with nice chunks of potatoes, green pepper and onion. Will be back!

Wallace Falls Café is GREAT!!! American and Vietnamese food , I have had some of Both , enjoyed all. I had the salmon cream cheese omelet is to die for and the Vietnamese stew was delicious. We have been there a few times and every time was as good as the first time . We are looking forward to going up again , it is very nice and clean café, the workers are all very friendly and eager to please. It is very refreshing to go into an establishment and get the feeling you are important and they are happy you are there ! The menu has something for everyone , My husband loves the chicken fried steak (he is a bit hard to please) and the omelets. Most if not all the food is made to order ! Can't say that about to many other restaurant's ! Well at Wallace Falls Café you definitely get what you pay for and a lot more! Thanks for opening this Café.

After camping at Wallace Falls State Park nearby, I stopped in for breakfast expecting a traditional American diner. After absorbing the dichotomousness of Vietnamese and American cuisine I settled in and ordered biscuits and gravy. "Why not?" I thought, "That's what I'm in the mood for." The biscuits and gravy were 'just ok'. The biscuits were small and the gravy was ultra lumpy, but it tasted fine. The side order of bacon, however, was cooked to perfection...which a lot of restaurants have a *really* hard time doing. The rest of the menu - lunch/dinner - was more traditional Vietnamese, which I love. If I'm in the area again in the afternoon/evening, I'll stop in again to give that a try. You're probably wondering why 4 stars if the biscuits and gravy were 'just ok'. Well, the young man running the front of the house was ultra friendly and that goes a long way in my book. Plus, you know, perfectly cooked bacon...everything's better with bacon. ;)

I've been here twice so far, and I have to say this diner has the best service that I've ever had at a restaurant! It's family-owned with very friendly staff. They even recognized me the second time I went there! Both times I got a Bahn Mi sandwich without the mayo because I'm vegan, and it was delicious. I was with a couple friends, and they all enjoyed the food as well. There's a good selection of comfort food (American burgers and fries, etc.) and Vietnamese food. I'd definitely recommend this place again! There's room for larger groups of people, and it's also very family-friendly.

I've eaten here once, right before I moved out of Gold Bar (thank God) and regret not coming here sooner. The food was surprisingly good. It was quiet and everything was clean. Granted, the place opened for the first time a few month before I came in though. The eggs were awesome and the bacon was thick cut, not the paper thin stuff you find at Denny's. It was pricey for such a small place but I figure that in a small town, pricing will be a bit higher than normal.

For American diner breakfast fare, it was pretty good. Above average food, average portions, friendly service, good prices and mellow atmosphere. Liked seeing sweet potatoes on the menu. I'll be back.

The cafe was a nice surprise, the new owner has done a great job. The restaurant was clean and cheerful and the food was good. We had the Vietnamese banh mi sandwich, pho soup, and Greek gyro. It was great to get good ethnic food after a hike at Wallace Falls!

We stopped here on the way back from Leavenworth and loved it. Their Vietnamese food was outstanding. We had the Mi Quong Pho and Banh Mi sandwich, both of which were really delicious. This place was a delightful surprise.
